Kingston Pop Museum Brings the Heat with Summer & Fall Lineup

Kingston Pop Museum is gearing up for an unforgettable summer season, with a lineup of events that are sure to delight music lovers, art enthusiasts, and soccer fans alike. From the heavy-hitting rock lineup of Summer of Rock to the second annual Love Fest Parade featuring a classic Volkswagen car show, there’s something for everyone at The Kingston Pop Museum.

Owner Mr. Stavros has a reputation for growing brands into household names, and this year he’s pulling out all the stops to put the Kingston Midtown district on the map. The summer kicks off on July 1st with a visit from Michael Alago, the legendary talent scout who discovered and signed Metallica. Alago will be signing his book, I am Michael Alago, and sharing stories with fans.

In addition to Alago, the exhibition will feature music with former White Zombie and Psychotica member Paul Kostabi. To cap off the evening’s entertainment will be New York City’s own Rocker, Jezzoblack, and the Element will rock the house.

The excitement continues throughout the summer, with an exhibition from rock ‘n’ roll photographer Mark Weiss, music from local legend Paul Heath with his band Dead Unicorn, and Soul Cake in August with an all star lineup to be announced at a later date.

Peace, Love, and Unity with everyone are the themes of this year, and we will be starting off with our Street Soccer – USA event in early September! Find more information on their website streetsoccerusa.org The Love Fest Parade will be late September. October will feature international artists yet to be announced, and in November the museum’s own curator Eugene Stetz will produce a show that promises to take your breath away.

Throughout the season here will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy art films on Tuesday nights, featuring films that Mr. Stavros was personally involved in, and screenings will taking place either in the gallery or outside in the museum’s mural backyard, weather permitting. A question and answer forum on the making of those films will take place from 7-9pm.

And for soccer fans, there will be extra fun in July, where we offer free admission to watch the Women’s World Cup from Australia, with discussions about team performances taking place after the games.
